Skat rules

Three players bid to play alone against two defenders.

How to play

  1. Use a 32-card deck: seven through ace. Deal ten cards each and leave two in the skat.
  2. The auction chooses a declarer, who plays alone against the other two.
  3. Choose the contract and exchange with the skat when offered. Follow suit; in suit games the jacks are the highest trumps.
  4. The declarer must take at least 61 of the 120 card points in a point contract. Contract value and the auction determine the result.
